The Good Folks prides itself as an advocate of homegrown labels.
In late 2017, it had the pleasure of introducing Singaporean eyewear label, O+, to key stakeholders.
Local eyewear label, O+, established in 2016, was borne out of a desire to fill the gap in the market for timeless and classic frames that are of premium quality and yet, affordable. In November 2017, O+ officially opened its flagship store at the OUE Downtown Gallery, making it the first single-brand eyewear boutique in Singapore.
Founded by David Hwang, a veteran in the global optical industry, and his two sons, Silas and Shamus, O+ represents bloodline and passion. It is the successful combination of a father’s rich experience in the business of designing and manufacturing eyewear, and the second generation’s contemporary interpretation of classic, vintage frames. The store’s façade, with its gold-accented minimalist interiors, is reflective of what O+ stands for aesthetically – simple, classic and polished.
O+ prides itself in taking ownership of the entire process, from design to sourcing and production of the frames, to ensure that the perfect pair of eyewear sits on a customer’s face. Using the best materials, the brand stays committed to crafting high-end quality products in terms of build, design and fit. By marrying fine detailing with high-quality control, O+ creates good designs that fit customers perfectly.
As part of its branding exercise, The Good Folks was engaged to help introduce the brand and its offerings to media and influencers. Through intensive media interview pitching efforts and 1-on-1 media intimate sessions, The Good Folks secured extensive coverage for O+ including a full-page cover story in The Straits Times Life! (Part I and Part II), The Business Times, 8 Days, Cleo, August Man, Esquire, Men’s Folio and Buro247, and garnered new O+ fans amongst influencers such as Jade Seah (@jadeseah), Bella Koh (@catslavery), Melody Tan (@meowiie), and more.
